Our friends and family in Christ
Re: The eXtreme Tour 2010
Dear friends and family:
Revelation X - a Christian rock band based out of Cullman, Alabama that has been playing locally and regionally since 2007- is hitting the road this summer with the eXtreme Tour. Beginning in mid-April and ending in late September, we – Jason Robinson (drums), Daniel Harbison (guitar/vocals), Jeremy Myrick (guitar), Ricky Antone (bass), and myself (lead vocals) – will be answering the calling that God has put on our lives, and using our skill and talent as musicians to spread the word of Christ and instill his message into the hearts of our young audience across the United States, but we need your help.
You see, the eXtreme Tour is not so much a quest for rockstardom, but more of a missions trip, in which we are afforded the opportunity to play for and talk to youth who might never have experienced the love of Jesus Christ. The tour is strategically mapped through inner cities and other impoverished areas as the Holy Spirit leads, where oftentimes faith and ministry is needed the most. This is a totally non-profit tour with all free admission shows. The band will be provided food and lodging, but we have to raise funds for gas and any incedentals that we incur along the way… just to give you an idea, here are some calculations:
Gas- Approx 13,155 miles, averaging 10 mpg, at an average price of $3/gal = $3,950
Incidental- The tour has also told us to budget $15-20 per member per week for incidental expenses – $15/member, for 24 weeks, for 5 members = $1,800
So that’s around $6, 000 we know we’ll need before we even leave our doorstep. That doesn’t include any blown tires, illnesses, or any other random crazy stuff that the devil will be throwing at us to try and deter our mission.
Since this is a 6 month long tour, although we are requesting our jobs give us a leave of absence to go be missionaries, some employers simply cannot or will not do that… nevertheless, as God has called us to be obedient and serve him, we are leaving our jobs, on leave, or unemployed and trying to save enough money to pay any bills we cannot forbear or defer. We have faith that God will provide all of our needs. And we are also reaching out to you, our family and friends in Christ for any support you can give us as we obediently go and serve Him.
Individual members of the band are already preparing for some serious spiritual warfare, we need you to keep us in your prayers as well – pray for the band to be resilient and encouraged in this leap of faith, and that we will stand strong against our enemy who will try to distract us and make us weak, pray for the cities we are going to, that our message will be effective, and God will use us to reach the lost and encourage the broken, pray for our vehicles, our finances, and the familes we are leaving behind, not just for Revelation X, but all of the 40-50 bands that will be involved in some aspect of the eXtreme tour. In addition, as you may have guessed, we need financial support. I have mentioned above the expenses that we *know* to expect. If you are interested in supporting our ministry financially there are a couple of different options:
1) You can make a one-time donation – the amount is inconsequential, we appreciate any and all support you feel led to give.
2) You can sponsor the band and donate a fixed amount each month. If 100 people pledge to donate $10/month, then gas and incidentals are covered!
You also have a couple of options for how to get the money to the band:
1) Go to www.revxonline.com and click the “Donate” button, this will take you to a secure checkout through Paypal (you needn’t have an account to donate) and you can fill in your information. This works for a one-time donation, or a monthly sponsorship.
2) Mail a check/money order made out to “Revelation X” to this address: 1697 County Road 72, Hanceville, AL 35077. This is Jason’s mother, and she will be in charge of depositing the funds into the band’s account in our absence. This also works for a one-time donation, or a monthly sponsorship.

Matthew 20:26b-28 Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. |
